Happy New Year everyone!! Well, it's amazing how quickly it's come around - but it's that time of year again - we are having our annual ACE grading and sale on February 16. Below is the ad that will be in Horse Deals in February... Please share it with your friends or anyone you think may be interested. All the 2012 colts are sold, but there are some gorgeous fillies, yearlings and 2 year olds for sale, and they will be doing some freejumping also.

Hi everyone. It has been a while since we last updated, and quite a bit has been happening at Tulara. The February sale was a success, resulting in the sale of 10 horses, and now a further 16 have been just put up for sale, including some beautiful broodmares, yearlings, and rising 2 year olds. To view their profiles, including bloodlines and photos, click on the relevant links on the left, however below is an advertisement from Horse Deals August 2012 to give you an overview.

For other news, Tulara Trigger (our gorgeous English Pointer bitch) has given birth to a massive litter of nine, and they are all sold now except for Tulara Betsy, named after the famous Texan gun!... Here is a photo of the litter. Betsy is the tan and white on the left!

Thankyou to all who came to the open day for the foal assessment and sale. 5 Elite foals including best foal so far. Nearly all horses sold on the day. Thanks to all who helped with the horses on the day.

January 26, 2012

Happy Australia Day!! On Saturday February 25, 2012, Tulara Warmbloods will be holding our second annual Open Day and Sale. Tonne Boeckmann is the assessor for the ACE group this year. He will make comments on the foal and assess them for type and movement. Hopefully we will get some idea of the assessment process in Germany. 5 Colt Foals, 2 Yearling Colts and 1 Three year old filly will be for sale on the day. The sale will be by Silent Auction. There will be a reserve price on each horse and the highest bid above that price will buy the horse. Prices will start around $7000.00

March 30, 2011

We are just back from Dressage and Jumping with the Stars. Only one horse of ours there this year. He did quite well. Champion of Champions for the showjumping.

January 17, 2011

2011 already. The open day was a success i think. About 50 people came to see the foals assessed. Most people seemed to enjoy the commentary of Gerd Kuest, the german assessor. Some of our 17 foals did ok. We got 5 elite foals and 2 premium with none below 75%. Our Furstenball/Sandro Hit foal got 88% for movement and 85% overall. So far he is the best foal assessed.  A nice future stallion prospect. A Colman/Carpaccio filly got 82.5% which just shows you can breed a wonderful typey good moving showjumper. 9 horses were sold on the day.

December 20, 2010

We have decided to hold our first open day and sale by silent auction. All 17 frozen semen foals will be judged by the german assessor Gerd Kuest who will make critical comments on each. It is hoped it will be a learning experience for all who attend. There will also be a silent auction of all colt foals and older horses. The 2 year olds will be free jumped. The yearling will be run around for people to see them move. There will be a vendor bid at the reserve price and then people can bid on each lot as they would like. If you would like to let us know you are coming that would  be great.

December 15, 2010

Congratulations to Kellie Houben with her Tulara Cadira, a  De Niro 5 year old. 2nd in the preliminary final at Werribee. Also congratulations to Jamie Kermond with Tulara Balouch. 5th in the 5 year old national showjumping championship in Sydney.

September 27, 2010

Foaling is now underway. So far we have a wonderful Cornet Obolensky Filly out of one of our Contango 11 mares. We have 2 fillies and a colt by Colman, Holstein supersire!! The colt is out of our Winterkoenig/Skyhigh mare and is for sale. We had a bit of bad luck when our Furst Heinrich mare stood on her Bellissimo foal and broke its femur on day one.

July 4,2010

Congratulations to Jamie Winning on her purchase of Tulara Cornets Windstorm. By Cornet Obolensky he is a true showjumping stallion prospect. Debbie Hicks  picked up her Royal Hit colt recently and we wish her and her daughter well with him as a dressage prospect.

Australia Day, 2010

Heather Currie just emailed me to say that Sandro Strike, bred here at Tulara has just won the young dressage horse championships in South Australia. He was highly acclaimed by the judges  Mary Seifreid and Susie Hoevanears. He won with 80.4 % and 77% in the final. Strike is a better name than Buzz Heather,(we  named him Buzz). He is out of our Winterkoenig mare Falcon Wildflower. We have a yearling gelding for sale by Fidertanz out of the same mare. This mare also had a filly foal by Florestan who came first for her year in the ACE assessments. This mare is being ridden at home and is in foal to Ampere.

January 22, 2010

Our foals have just been assessed by Gerd Kust from Germany for the ACE inspections. We had 14 foals assessed of which 6 were premium or elite. We are quite happy with this. Much of the assessment is for movement and many of our jumping lines are doing as well or better than many dressage lines. Our top mover was a Swarovski colt out of a Don Shufro mare. He scored a 9 for trot and 85.5% overall. He is for sale and will make a fabulous dressage mount. Another colt by Chicos boy scored highly for movement and type and would suit either dressage or jumping. Chicos Boy is from one of the best moving lines in Holstein and his progeny in Germany have made premium in both dressage and jumping sections. Other foals for sale are a Rubin Royal colt out of a Furst Heinrich mare,  a Cristallo colt, a Cassini 11  colt.

January 15, 2010

We have had another very successful frozen semen insemination year. We have 20 mares in foal for next year with the last one due on December 15.

We have 8 in foal to one of the best jumping sires in Holstein. This is a horse called Colman. He is by Carthago/Lord/Marlonxx. He is probably the best breeding son of Carthago. He has about 20 licensed sons in Holstein and has had premium sons at many of the approvals. Through Marlon and Lord he passes on great movement as well. Some of the mares in foal to him are by Holstein licensing champions Chicos Boy, Carpaccio, and one of the greats in  holstein Quinar by Quidam de  Revel.

We have on in foal to Cornet Obolensky, four in foal to Cassini 11, one to Diarardo.

Dressage we have a Florestan mare in foal to Ampere, 2 to Furst Romancier, a sandro hit mare in foal to Furstenball. 1 Furst Heinrich mare in foal to Bellissimo.

October 22. 2009

Today our first Diarado foal arrived. It is a lovely bay filly out of Tanzee one of our Contango 11 mares. We also have 2 Chicos Boy foals now. The one out of Moshino is a lovely bay colt and is for sale. AI is going well with 5 mares in foal now. 3 to Colman, our new sire from a private station in Holstein. Colman is by Carthago/ Lord/ Marlon xx and is one of Holsteins most productive sires. He has more than 16 licensed sons. Our Furst Heinrich mare is in foal to Bellissimo, and Caddie is back in foal to Cornet Oblensky.

September 14, 2009

Our foaling has started now. So far we have a lovely Cassini 11 buckskin filly out of our buckskin mare AbFab. Also  a bay Don Shufro filly with 2 lovely white socks out of our Ludendorf mare and a magnificent Rubin Royal black colt out of a very special Furst Heinrich mare. This colt will be for sale and will be an exceptional dressage prospect.

April 22, 2009

Congratulations to Gavin Chester. Last year he purchased from us a yearling gelding by Balou du Rouet. He sold him in his recent sale at Tonimbuk where he topped the sale at $28000 as a rising 3 year old unbroken

April 10, 2009

AI program. Congratulations to our new AI technician. This year we  have 16 frozen semen foals due. They are by 4 Cornet Obolensky, 3 Diarado, 2 Chicos Boy, 2 Cassini 11, 1 Rubin Royal, 1 Bellissimo, 1 Don Shufro, 1 Swarovski and 1 Cristallo. If anyone is interested in any of these foals please contact us. The Rubin Royal is out of a Furst Heinrich mare  and the Bellissimo is out of a Don Shufro mare and the Swarovski is out of a Don Shufro mare as well

Apri 2, 2009

We register all our foals with the ACE group. We had them classified by Gerd Kuest from Germany again this year.  One of our Cornet Obolensky colts was judged a stallion prospect. He is out of a mare with a double cross of Contender so he should be able to jump. We had 3 premium foals  and the others were close behind so we are very happy with the gradual improvement in the quality of our stock.

March 20, 2009

Foaling news. This year we finished with 11 foals. 7 colts and 4 fillies. The fillies are 2 by Cornet Obolensky and 2 by Tulara Balouch. They are being retained by the stud. For Sale we have 2 Fidertanz colts, 1 Royal Hit Colt, 2 Cornet Obolensky colts and 1 Chicos Boy colt.

November 5, 2008

Well we are now half way through our foaling. We have an outstanding Fidertanz colt on the ground out of our Don Shufro mare. He has fantastic movement and is a wonderful type. We have another Fidertanz colt out of our Winterkoenig mare who produced the number one filly foal in 2006. Our Royal Hit colt is also very nice. These 3 colts are all for sale. We have our first Cornet Obolensky foal on the ground. A lovely filly. We are very lucky because it was born 25 days early and is ok. We have 2 fillies by Tulara Balouch, one is outstanding out of our Contango 11 mare and the other is also a nice filly. We are currently updating our website so in the next few weeks it should be all up to date.

July 14, 2008

Congratulations to Marion Shears from Sale who came today and picked up Tulara Balouf. He is by Balou du Rouet out of an Aachimedes/Chico Doro mare that can really jump. We wish her well in the future.

June 18, 2008

Congratulations to Gavin Chester. He came today and picked up 3 of our sale horses. He took the Balou/Ludendorf gelding and the Balou/Aachimedes filly for himself and a lovely Cassini 11 colt for a Japanese client who had a look a couple of weeks ago. All 3 are destined for a career in showjumping I am sure.

June 7, 2008

Congratulations to Julie Walpole on her purchase of Tulara Chinky. Chinky is a very leggy colt by Ego Casablanca and has very good conformation. Look out for them in a few years time.

May 1, 2008

Congratulations to Kelly Houben who has purchased a 90% share of Tulara Cadira. Cadira is by De Niro out of a Contango 11 mare. Cadira is just 2 and has started work already. She is a lovely large mare with outstanding movement. We wish Kelly all the best with her future dressage career.
